This June I am embarking on a journey to Tanzania. I will be working with Cross-Cultural Solutions (CCS) in Moshi, Tanzania which is located at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro (boarding the country of Kenya).
For two weeks I will be volunteering with CCS at an orphanage in Moshi. I will be teaching English, educating youth on hygiene and nutrition, but most importantly I will be providing one-on-one attention and love. As put by CCS, “In Kilimanjaro, many children have been orphaned due to HIV/AIDS. Many have been abused or abandoned, and their families struggle to provide for their most basic needs. The youngest generations are forced to grow up too quickly.” My goal will be to help these children to recapture and share the joy of childhood while assisting them with their growth and development.
After my work with CCS, I will be attempting a climb to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak.
June 13, 2015 – June 27, 2015: Work with CCS
June 28, 2015 – July 4, 2015: Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro
I look forward to sharing my experiences and adventures with you, stay tuned!
